NS 303, the daily manifest between Fort Wayne and Elkhart, IN rolled into town just as the predicted snowfall was beginning to make its appearance. A rather brisk 18 degree temperature with some wind made it an interesting morning. Today’s train was being operated conventional which was a surprise as it is normally set up with distributed power cut in. The 127 car train has KCS 4795 and KCS de Mexico 4737, a pair of ES44AC’s powering it on this cloudy, snowy day making that stylish Southern Belle paint scheme stand out nicely.
