Myofascial stretch of the Obturator Internus

In this video, we go through the myofascial stretch of the obturator internus, which is one of our deep hip rotator muscles. It is also intimately involved in pelvic floor function due to the attachment of one of the deep pelvic floor muscles, the levator ani (iliococcygeus to be exact) into the obturator internus through the arcus tendineus.

Their actions are to:
Turn the thigh out to the side (hip external rotation)
Straighten the hip or bring the thigh backwards (hip extension)

From a myo-fascial point of view, we can further describe its actions on the pelvis and ilium more specifically to (nerd definition coming):
Pelvis: Retroversion (posterior tilt)
Ilium: Inflare (ilia move posteriorly)

The technique respects the physiology of the myofascial complex and takes into consideration its intrinsic anatomy and effects on joint mechanics.
