Latvia is a free and independent country, and so the energy system of Latvia should be. Only eight months remain until the moment when Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia will disconnect their grids from the Unified Power System of Russia, to which it has been historically connected. Currently, the frequency in Latvia's transmission grid is regulated from Russia, but with the help of this synchronous condenser and other equipment, we will do it ourselves. In recent years, "Augstsprieguma tīkls" has implemented many projects to prepare to synchronisation. At this moment, all power transmission line reconstruction and new line construction projects over 500 kilometres in length throughout Latvia have already been completed. We are making significant progress towards achieving our set goal.
