Schindler 5500 MR @ Atlantis Residences Melaka [Tower B]

These are the Schindler lifts located at an apartment where the admin was staying during a Malacca trip.

This apartment consists of four 42-floor towers with 1,360 units. Levels 1 - 6 are carpark, and above that (level 7) had a swimming pool. Its units are located on levels 8 - 23 and 25 - 38, with level 24 had a bridge that links between two towers. Levels 39 and 40 had a duplex penthouse suites, and above that (level 41) had a rooftop garden.

The apartment had 16 lifts with four in each tower, consisting of three passenger and one fireman/service serving levels 1 through 40. All the lifts were supplied by Schindler, using 5500 models with Linea 300 fixtures, stainless steel cabs and handicap panels. One of two cars had elongated cabs and COPs placed on the left side wall instead of the front one, but having a same capacity—same goes for a fireman/service lift where its cab draped in protective pads, and is on a separate call within the three passenger lifts.

Most floors were restricted except 1 (the ground-floor lobby) and 4 - 6 (visitor carpark); as the admin was staying in there, the keycard allows access to the desired floors and facilities only. As the lifts terminate on level 40 which is the upper penthouse floor, the rooftop garden can be reached by stairs—so the keycard allows access to that floor, possibly able to do a full ride on these lifts.

The ride was bouncy, but the speed was a bit slow for forty stops (~135 meters); they ran at only 3 m/s which was the maximum rated speed for Schindler 5500 models. Lifts at other blocks were not filmed as the keycard allows access to this block only.
