Chiropractic HVLA neck manipulation comes with various risks for serious complications. In this video, Dr. Sader discusses some of these risks (including stroke, spinal cord or nerve damage) and emphasizes the need for transparency during the informed consent process, as well as the need for better studies on the topic.

An important thing to keep in mind is that chiropractors are not real doctors. They don't go to medical school. Chiropractic care is a pseudo-science and when it comes to the neck, there are fragile structures that can be injured when neck manipulation is done without prior imaging (MRI) and understanding of the anatomy and risk. That includes vertebral and carotid dissections, spinal cord compression, worsening of disc herniations, and others.
