Grimdark Trench Crusade : The Lord of Tumours

Welcome to you, the Grimdark collective.

For my first ever channel exclusive tutorial I'll take you on a journey into the dark, macabre, unsettling, and morbid corners of my mind.


Today, I'll show you my vision of how to paint the inimitable Lord of Tumours from the Cult of the Black Grail, an unholy faction from the uber Grimdark skirmish war game : Trench Crusade.


Alongside some more familiar practises, I'll walk you through some lesser known techniques, including oil dot filtering, the use of varnishes to both alter surface tension to enable simple yet striking effects and achieve effective surface finish variation, multiple ways to add subtle mottling and how to combine these techniques to create some truly nasty, stomach churning flesh.
