This is a simple replacement of a worn out alternator. I am working on a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero 2.2 L 4 Cylinder, but the repair is the same for the Chevy Cavalier and the Saturn Ion and the Pontiac Sunfire as long as it is the same engine size. Also possibly a Chevy Classic and Grand am.
I used a 13mm for all 3 bolts and to remove positive battery connection. I removed the radiator hoses for better access using needle nose pliers. The clip is in somewhat of a difficult spot, but it can be reached. I suggest using a flat head screwdriver. This 3/4 ratchet is used to pull on the belt tensioner. This was a simple job and took about 20-30 minutes to uninstall and around the same to install. Thank you for watching! Love You!
