Embarking on this 24 hour fast was a way of exploring the effects of one of the methods of intermittent fasting. The leangains (or 16/8) method is not the only way to go about intermittent fasting. As I explained in a recent video (above), there are many different ways to go about it, including doing a 24 hour fast every two weeks or so. I am considering switching to this method because due to my schedule, doing the 16/8 intermittent fasting method has become difficult without significant planning. Instead, fasting for 24 hours really requires no planning because all you have to do is not eat for 24 hours once in a while.
One of the biggest benefits of intermittent fasting is increased insulin sensitivity/ reduced insulin resistance. Fasting for 24 hours every few days can help your body get results very quickly. When I first started intermittent fasting, I saw results within a few days in terms of looking leaner and generally feeling better.
