Lisa and I take a late night train from Taipei to Hualien in order to join a day tour of Taroko Gorge. We hike several trails, including the Shakadong Trail, Lushui Trail, Tunnel of Nine Turns, and Swallow Grotto, enjoy beautiful vistas along the gorge, and even get to ring the bell tower above the Eternal Spring Shrine.
