What did I pay for my cottage in the Scottish Highlands? As it turns out, not as much as you might think.

In this video we discuss how much I paid for my house in the Far North of Scotland, how I'm able to get internet in a place as remote as the Scottish Highlands, whether or not I have buyer's remorse about moving to Sutherland, and some of your other questions that you asked in the comments on my previous videos. We also showcase grocery shopping at the nearby Tesco supermarket in Tain, Easter Ross.

Also, some exciting news: we've adopted a cat! In this video, you get to meet the newest addition to our family: Annabelle, a six-year-old Ragdoll we rescued from the SSPCA in Aberdeenshire. It's been many years since my wife and I had a cat, and in the short time she's lived here, she's already brought immense joy to our lives.

The American Highlander is an immigrant's love letter to the Scottish Highlands. I'm doing my best to integrate into the Far North, and I absolutely love it here. There's a beautiful, delicate magic to this place; it's a wonderful high-trust society, very low population, and it deserves to be preserved. I hope you'll visit it one day, or perhaps even choose to make it your home. There aren't too many channels based in the Far North of Scotland, and I think a lot of people descended from the British Isles fantasize about returning to their ancestral home; if I can provide a vicarious look at life in the Scottish Highlands, then I've done my job.
