Wicket runs for technique and speed development. Get Faster using mini hurdles.
Wickets runs for athletes are runs over mini hurdles to develop an athletics biomechanical efficiency and technique. Improving sprint speed is important to all athletes, we'll show you how to get faster using this method. By running over the top of them we are able to generate good running mechanics with both high end speed and appropriate power for running fast.
Wickets can be set at various spacings depending upon the specific purpose you are looking to fulfil - and it is likely to vary from athlete to athlete.
Some of the key technical points include good dorsi flexion across the hurdle, positioning of foot under hip at footstrike, rear knee up level with front knee on landing, upright body posture and quick knee pick up from take off avoiding trailing the foot out too far behind the body. These are all things that are important in general running technique too.
