3 Drills To Improve First Touch | Football/Soccer

Here are 3 different drills to improve your team's first touch. The drills focus on different aspects of the first touch, like directional first touch and controlling the ball on difficult passes.

1. Drill
Players stand in a right-angled triangle with a small distance between each other, around 3-5 meters.
The player in the middle has to constantly move the ball between the outside players while using a directional first touch to make the passes. The player in the middle should aim for two touches in total, while the players at the outside should aim for first time passing.
Change the player in the middle after 1-2 min.

2. Drill
Two players face each other with a relatively long distance between them. Player 1 makes a long pass for player 2. Player 2 now has to lay the ball inside the box on the first touch. Now player 2 repeats and passes to player 1.
To make the players more committed, make a competition between the two players where you get 1 point by laying the ball in the box on the first touch.

3. Drill
The players stands in a “+” shape. Player 1 passes to player 2 who makes a directional first touch towards one of the other players (It can be any player) to make the pass. Player 1 now goes in the middle and player 2 goes to the empty space player 1 makes on the outside. Repeats.

REMEMBER that distance between players can vary depending on players age and level.
