Recording this sonata was something special, since i had the chance to work on it a little bit when I was still a kid. I remember the last movement at the time felt really difficult, so it was challenging for me to go back to it and face it again after many years.
At the end though, it was one the sonatas that I enjoyed the most to record and in the last movement I decided to take the fastest tempi given by Czerny, since I thought that it would make clear to everyone, that if we do care about the metronome numbers and if we want to implement all of them, the WBMP still remains the only solution and certainly the best one to get the closest to that lost tradition. Yes, that tradition that at the end, puts music, drama, passion and all kinds of emotions, at the center of everything... not the performer, but the genius of these composers and the beauty of their music, which they wrote FOR US!
Enjoy!
