What makes a song? Music is often considered to be the most abstract of the arts, and it can be quite subjective to say what makes a song good or bad. But in this video, Berklee Online course author Ben Camp gives a more analytical look at music, trying to understand what builds the bigger picture of song design. By going from the use of a single note, to making phrases with those notes, to making sections with those phrases, to making a whole song with those sections, the video goes over the different ways you can play around with those parts while always keeping the bigger picture in mind.
