What you’ll need: a backpack and water bottles and/or canned food.
Disclaimer: Please always warm up properly with some light exercises (jogging in place, jumping jacks, butt kicks are great).
Who said we can’t get a good workout in without going to the gym?! Today we are transforming everyday objects into gym workout equipment - time to dust off your old backpack!
Circuit 1: 4 x each
Backpack Reverse lunge
Backpack Side Lunge
Backpack Curtsy Lunge
Circuit 2: 4 x each
Glute Bridges
Marching Glute Bridges
Circuit 3 :3 x each
Front Squats
Back Squats
This workout is primarily going to be focused on your legs. We’ll start with a lunge circuit to really hit your quads and hamstrings. The three variations will make sure that you get both lateral and front/back movement. To make this more challenging, feel free to hold your backpack out in front as you’re doing each exercise.
We then move onto the mat to do our glute bridges and marching glute bridges. This will hit your posterior chain focusing on your glutes, hamstrings, and even a little bit of calves.
Lastly, we get back up and do some front squats along with back squats. You should notice a difference as you shift the weight between the two exercises where the front squat will be more quad dominant and back squats will be more hamstring focused.
As always, we don’t need a ton of space with this one. Remember, the pace is your own, but try to stick through every 30 seconds to the end. Feel free to pause during the workouts to catch your breath.
I recommend switching up your workouts to give your muscles enough time to recover and to hit them from different angles. If you want to challenge your muscles in another way, check out my other workout videos. There are videos focused on fat burning, abs, upper body, and more. Feel free to combine and mix them up however you like for an extended workout!
