this dish Steamed Dal Far / Dal Fara / Dal Farra that is lightly tossed with spices (tadka)
This is a healthy, steamed lentil dumpling dish, commonly made from chana dal paste, shaped into pieces and steamed first.
After the Dal Fara is steamed, it is finished with a light tadka (tempering). This step enhances aroma and flavor without making the dish oily.
eaten plain with chutney, or
lightly sautéed with cumin, mustard seeds, garlic, and spices (as shown in your image)
No deep frying involved.
