In Level 5 abdominal work, we are doing an all over body workout focusing on building more strength and endurance in the abs.
We have honed our ability to engage the shoulder girdle stabilisers whilst flexing the spine.
The strength gained from Levels 1- 4 is established and Level 5 will now testing that strength.
We start to focus on stabilising both the front and back of the scapula, by keeping wide at the front and back of the shoulder girdle. This is technical. This is what the more advanced exercises start to demand.
Watch out for the shoulders protracting. This indicates the posterior stabilisers are not engaged and the anterior shoulder muscles are over working.
