Racing 5km on the track - definitely not a parkrun.

The Northern league, for our club it’s a struggle to get members out to take part. As an athletics club, we aren’t full of willing track runners especially for the shorter distance stuff lately… it’s a shame, but I know my strengths and it definitely isn’t sprinting over the shorter stuff. Every once in a while though it’s great to step back onto the track and clock a 5000m, something we do week on week at parkrun for our Saturday morning fix. Nice little tester under the belt and made for interesting racing as the temperature rose through the 12.5 laps.
