Stretching Routine for FRONT SPLITS | Effective Flexibility Flow

This flexibility flow is perfect for those who think that stretching is boring. It is quite an active workout that will test your strength, balance, functional movement and mobility. Flexibility will be approached from a more dimensional point and you will feel the difference.

This practice is not a traditional yoga flow. It is a combination of movements, exercises and stretches from various body movement disciplines and styles. We will begin with a targeted leg warm up to bring all the necessary heat into the muscles. The sequence will continue with standing balancing poses, active flexibility, forward folds, lunges, interesting and demanding transitions between some traditional asanas and full floor splits towards the end. I would advise you to do your own general warm up and at least a few Sun Salutations before you begin our class.

This practice will be suitable for more experienced practitioners who are still working on achieving floor splits and those who can do the pose but would like to get more comfortable in it. I encourage you to move alongside your breathing, be mindful of how your stretches feel and stay patient. It can be advised to work on this sequence 2-3 times a week.

For this practice you might need a blanket, a set of blocks (books) and a strap (scarf) depending on your level of flexibility and modifications necessary.
