Описание:

Laing is made up of dried taro leaves cooked in a lot of coconut milk. The taste of this dish is coconut creamy, hot and spicy, a little bit sour but very delicious! Thus, it is one of the best Filipino vegetable dishes.

When you live outside the Philippines, you crave for this dish a lot. Taro leaves and fresh coconut are not always available. However, we can always look for substitutes. Kale for taro leaves is an amazing substitute. Kale is a superfood because it contains a lot of fiber, Vitamin B6 and C.

Kale grows very well in Canada especially during spring and summer seasons! We grow our own kale. The video will show in the beginning a glimpse of our vegetable garden. We have a lot of kale this year.

I cooked kale Laing. I guess with great success!. If you are trying it on your own, please follow the step-by-step procedure from preparing the ingredients and cooking as well. Please leave a comment on how it went.

KALE LAING INGREDIENTS
10-12 stalks kale
1 lb pork
½ C dried small shrimps
½ lb large shrimp, headless and deveined
1 knob ginger, peeled and sliced
½ garlic bulb, peeled and minced
1 large onion, peeled and sliced
4 pcs. hot chili pepper
1 can coconut milk
1 pouch coconut powder, 50 g dissolved in ½ C warm water
For flavorings:
¼ C salted shrimp (bagoong alamang) cooked or uncooked
½ t Salt
½ t ground black pepper
1 C white vinegar
1 T sugar
1 T mushroom powder or 1t magic sarap
