Vegan Sweet and Spicy Seitan Recipe
How to make this delicious vegan sweet and spicy seitan recipe. In this recipe we make the seitan from scratch. This recipe is perfect for lunch or dinner if you are craving for that take-out Asian food but can't get it! Thank you, Liv B for this recipe!
For the homemade seitan, to a bowl add:
1 cup + 2 tbsp vital wheat gluten flour
2 tbsp nutritional yeast
1/4 salt tsp
1/8 tsp black pepper
Mix and set aside.
To a separate bowl mix:
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
1/4 cup water
1 tbsp oil
1 clove garlic
Combine the wet And dry making sure you don’t knead it and keep in small pieces.
Fry the seitan pieces for 10-15 min or until crispy. Add the sauce.
Sauce:
1/2 cup soy sauce
3 tbsp agave nectar
3 tbsp brown sugar
Garlic mince to taste
Ginger mince to taste
Chili flakes to taste
Cook until sauce had evaporated and seitan is sticky and crispy.
