Leg day on a cold, dreary day… but one of my best workouts in weeks.
Lately I’ve been dealing with fatigue from heavy training, especially after deadlifts and hack squats. So instead of going all-out heavy again, I tried something different: slightly lighter weight, more volume, and adding isolation work like leg extensions.
In this workout I break down:
Why I lowered the weight on hack squats
How I’m managing fatigue without stalling progress
My rep PR progress even with lighter loads
Why isolation work might be the missing piece for leg definition
How I’m trying to find the sweet spot between heavy + volume training
I’m still training hard, still pushing my working sets, but being smarter about recovery and long-term progress.
If you’re feeling beat up from heavy leg days or stuck between low-volume and high-volume training, this one might help you rethink your approach.
