From the Archives: Darcy Hunter with Kate Ward for Making Zen

🧵 We’re thrilled to welcome back quilt artist Darcy Hunter (@darcyhunter.art) to the Making Zen Online Retreat! This interview is from a previous Making Zen Retreat, and she's back with us for our upcoming October retreat with a brand new workshop!

Based in New Brunswick, Canada, Darcy creates beautiful, representational textile art inspired by her deep connection to the natural world. Using her sewing machine like a paintbrush, she layers fabric and stitch to capture the movement, colour, and quiet magic of her surroundings. Her work has been shown in juried exhibitions internationally and is collected across North America.

🪡 Darcy’s workshop is called “Hand-stitched Red Poppies with 3D Elements”, where you’ll create a vibrant floral piece using materials from your stash. With hand-stitching and simple embroidery, she’ll guide you to craft dimensional petals and bring your poppies to life - one stitch at a time.
