What to See in Cambodia: Angkor Wat Temples and Nightlife

Another exciting saga in Cambodia began with our first full day of adventure.
We booked a full-day Angkor Wat and countryside sunset tour through Klook, with pick-up scheduled at 8:15 AM from our hotel, Angkol Mongkol Residence and Spa. Fortunately, our group was small—just four people in a van—with an English-speaking tour guide, which made the experience more personal and immersive.

Our guide informed us ahead of time about our itinerary, starting with Angkor Wat, which we visited first to beat the larger tourist crowds due to the local holiday. From there, we continued to Ta Prohm Temple, famously known as a filming location for Tomb Raider.
After exploring Ta Prohm, we stopped for lunch at a Cambodian restaurant, then resumed our temple-hopping journey in Angkor Thom, where we visited multiple historical sites including Phimeanakas, The Baphuon, Bayon Temple, and finally made our way to Phnom Bakheng to catch a scenic sunset view from the hill.

The entire tour was an unforgettable experience filled with rich insights into Cambodia's culture, religion, art, and architecture.

After a long day of exploration, we returned to the hotel to freshen up before heading out to experience Cambodia's nightlife at Pub Street 8 Angkor. We had dinner at an Asian fusion restaurant and enjoyed a few cocktails at Mesa Restaurant, then moved on to Temple Rooftop Bar, where we capped the night off with some relaxing ginger tea.
