Meniscus tear??
The good news is- it’s common that a meniscus can actually heal itself. It does depend on how the tear happened and where it happened ☝🏽
It you can’t pinpoint exactly when the tear happened but you started to notice it hurting along the joint line of the knee- there’s a good chance it could heal itself 🤔
This is called a degenerative meniscus tear.
One of the best conservative ways to treat a torn meniscus is actually exercise 👏🏼
Here are three examples in this video to help heal a torn meniscus. Please note that these exercises shouldn’t increase pain substantially. If they do, add a modification or change up the movement ⚠️
The exercises done in standing are both double limb exercises, meaning both feet are on the ground accepting equal weight. This is because most pain is felt when bearing full weight on one leg 🦵🏽
These repetitions provided are simply suggestions and can be changed as necessary 🙌🏼
There is hope, even if you have a torn meniscus!
