About Banasar Fort:
In fact the whole fort also known as Gurkhas castle is now gradually inching towards the day of its vanishing from scene. However the famous belief is that the fort was built by Amar Singh Thapa.The fort was built after the famous treaty of May 15, 1815 between British General, Sir David Ochterlony and Amar Singh Thapa. There are some other believes that the fort was set up during Raja Patiala regime or by the Pahari Rajas as the check up post. Whether this particular fort/hill was part of the territory gifted/sold by victors British to ally Raja Patiala, or whether it had reverted to previous Pahari Raja are not known with certainty.

How to reach Banasar Fort:
Banasar Fort is approx 17 km from Parwanoo on Bhoj Nagar Parwanoo Road, We can easily reach there via 2 wheeler or by Four Wheeler, Bhoj Nagar Parwanoo road is little narrow in width so you need to drive slowly according to road.
From Kalka to Parwanoo road, when comming from Kalka, take a Left turn to down (Kamli Marg toward Bhoj Nagar Road from this coordinates (30.83982432416475, 76.95998063609656), this road will go to parwanoo Timber trail top hills. After a drive of 17 KM, you can reach to starting poing of trek (30.82370009325907, 77.0216954678306)

Our Journey:
On Feb 2022 we decided to visit Bhanasar Fort on our bike just to explore this forbidden place, so we started our journey on bike from chandigarh and reach to Parwanoo, from there we take a turnt o Bhoj Nagar road, and from there after a drive of 17 km we reached to Trek Starting point. We parked our bike on road side and started our trek to banasar fort and after 30 minutes of treking we reached there.

When can we go Banasar Fort:
We can reach there in any season.

No any Hotels/Home Stay are available near Banasar Fort, the nearby Hotels/shopes are available in Parwanoo, Network coverage is good.
