GINATAANG PAKSIW NA TULINGAN
(Bullet Tuna Stewed in Vinegar and Coconut Milk)
Ingredients:
Tulingan - 1.5kg
Onion - 1 head
Garlic - 1 head
Tomato - 250g
Salt - 3 tsp
Pepper - 2 tsp
Cooking oil - 1/4cup
Vinegar - 1 cup
Water - 1 cup
Coconut powder - 2 cups
Water - 1 & 1/2 cup
Long chilli - 3pcs
Okra - 250g
Instructions:
1. In a pan, arrange the sliced tulingan (bullet tuna).
2. Layer the onion, garlic, and tomato over the fish.
3. Season with salt and pepper.
4. Drizzle with cooking oil.
5. Pour in vinegar and water.
6. Cover the pan and bring to boil over medium heat.
7. While waiting, mix coconut powder with water in a separate bowl until smooth.
8. Once boiling, pour in the coconut mixture into the pan.
9. Simmer for 30–45 minutes, until the fish is tender and the sauce is rich and creamy.
10. Add long green chili and okra, then cook for another 2–3 minutes until the okra is just tender.
11. Serve hot and enjoy with steamed rice.
