How do your childhood wounds show up in your adult relationships?
So many of our patterns in love come from the nervous system, early attachment, and the ways we learned to protect ourselves.
Here are some common signs of unresolved attachment wounds:
Trust issues
Abandonment fears
Anger or emotional outbursts
Isolation / keeping people at a distance
Addiction or compulsive behaviors
Fear of closeness
Low self-esteem
Self-sabotage (procrastination, being chronically late, overeating, overindulging, substances, etc.)
Is there a behavior you turn to in excess when you want comfort?
Not a scoop of ice cream — but the whole half-gallon, plus anything else in sight. I understand that deeply. I’ve had to stay mindful about whether I’m enjoying something as a treat… or using it to numb.
I knew at 12 years old that I was using food to self-soothe.
Awareness is the first step toward healing.

Use these to journal or simply reflect on your patterns in love:
How did your early experiences with your parents or caregivers shape how you relate to others today?
What do masculine and feminine traits mean to you?
What qualities do you value in close relationships — and how do these relate to your past?
What is the purpose of your relationships?
How do you handle conflict? Do you notice patterns from your childhood showing up now?
What would it look like for you to create more secure relationships?

Pay attention to your nervous system.
Notice:
Who makes you light up when they enter the room?
Who feels safe?
Who drains you?
And practice:
Honesty with yourself and others
Healthy boundaries (say no without guilt)
Letting go of resentment
Vulnerability — with people who show empathy
Receiving love instead of rejecting or minimizing it
