Muscle Tension is a physical symptom of "tired nerves" and an overworked nervous system that is trying to protect you. Rather than using specialized relaxation techniques or exercises that often involve more mental effort and checking-in, you should treat the tension with a "shrug" and allow it to be there without any resistance. By adopting an attitude of "so what" toward the tightness in your body, you stop sending fresh signals of fear to your brain, which eventually allows the nervous system to calm down and the muscles to release naturally on their own timeline.
