The photos in this slideshow were taken by Michael Pietrusewsky while on an excursion to Eidfjord, Norway courtesy of Viking Ocean cruises. Eidfjord was the second port in Norway visited on this cruise.
Eidfjord is a municipality in Vesland county (Hardanger District) on the southwestern coast of Norway. The majority of the municipal population lives in Eidfjord. Eidfjord is situated at the end of the Eid Fjord, an inner branch of the large Hardangerfjord. The village of Eidfjord is a major cruise ship port of call.
Old Eidfjord Church is a former parish church of the Church of Norway. The whitewashed, stone church was built in a rectangular design around the year 1309.
Not far from Eidfjord, the Norwegian Nature Centre in Hardanger has exhibitions about nature, climate, and the environment. The Norwegian Nature Center is also the official visitor center for Hardangervidda National Park.
