In this video, we tackle the next challenge on our 1967 C10 short-wide bed project: fabricating custom motor mounts for the LS swap. The standard mounts don't work with our modified setup, so we're building our own from heavy-duty 7-gauge (3/16") plate steel.
Join us as we take you through the entire process, from creating a custom paper pattern to a lot of cutting, bending, and grinding. You'll see how we overcome fabrication challenges without a plasma table, bending the thick plate with a cut-off wheel and a vise. We'll show you how we adapt the mount to fit our chassis, even modifying the steering heim joint mount on one side for perfect fitment. Finally, we'll get them welded and bolted in, securing the LS engine in its new home.
