Part 1: Housing Options for Loved Ones: Medically Fragile individuals

One of the more frustrating transition to adulthood/adult services topics for regional center families may well be securing housing for our loved ones with high support needs. In this 2-part series, we will explore regional center housing options for medically fragile individuals and those with behavioral support needs.

For Part 1 of this series, Jennifer Price, District Manager, Adults III, from San Andreas Regional Center (SARC) will explore:
– Different housing options available based on someone’s level of medical support needs
– Options, considerations, and the process involved with moving into a medical need based placement
– How to prepare ourselves and our loved ones for the big move: What to expect? What are the required assessments? What documents are needed? What appointments need to be made? Who at the regional center can help?
