Ingredients:
Lia (Puffed rice ) -2 bowl
Jaggery (Guda ) -1bowl (adjust sweetness)
Water-2tbsp
Ghee-2-3 tbsp
Cardamom powder ½ tsp (optional)
Cashew & Almond pieces 2 tbsp (optional)
Coconut slice (khai or thin strips) 2 tbsp optional
Preparation Steps
1. Prepare the Tin
Take a round or square tin / cake tin / steel tray.
Apply ghee on the bottom and sides.
Sprinkle a little roasted cashew & sesame (optional) on the bottom.
2.Roast Dry Fruits
Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pan.
Add cashew & almond pieces.
Fry until golden and keep aside.
4. Make Jaggery Syrup
Add jaggery + water into a pan.
Boil until it melts & becomes thick.
Test syrup:
Drop into water → should form soft ball shape.
Add cardamom powder + 1 tsp ghee.
5. Mix Quickly
Pour the syrup into roasted Lia bowl.
Add roasted cashew, almond & sesame.
Mix well before syrup cools.
6. Set in Tin
Immediately transfer mixture into greased tin.
Press gently with wet or ghee-applied glass / bowl bottom.
Do not press too tightly (to keep soft).
7. Cool & Cut
Allow to rest 15–20 minutes.
Remove from tin.
Cut into square / bar / diamond shape pieces.
Now muan is ready to serve
