Dr. Elisa De Franco is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, UK.
Her research uses genome sequencing to discover genes essential for beta-cell development and function and her breakthrough gene discoveries in neonatal diabetes have helped to gain new insights into beta cell biology.
During the @EASDiabetes Annual Meeting 2024 in Madrid - #EASD2024, Elisa De Franco was awarded the prestigious Minkowski Prize to recognize her #research contributions to the advancement of knowledge concerning #diabetes. The prize gets awarded to an outstanding researcher, normally residing in Europe, with no more than ten years full time experience as an independent investigator in the year of the nomination.
