Trains at Knaresborough - 07/01/2025

Filmed on 07/01/2025. And moving onwards to our fifth and final station of the day which brings us 3 miles east to the wonderful market town of Knaresborough (Season 12 Episode 5 )

Another town which family used to live at and this was the town and was actually the last town we lived at before the move to the Yorkshire Coast from 2011/2012. Still as beautiful as ever before with its heritage site of Knaresborough Castle which has one special viewing point overlooking the Knaresborough viaduct and the trains crossing over.

In its hay day and before Northern introduced the half hourly services between Leeds and York via Harrogate, Northern ran hourly trains through to York and one train per hour used to work as far as Knaresborough which used to be worked by class 153/155 combination. The trains which ran to Knaresborough used to run round via the viaduct to await their departure time to Leeds.
