Breaking away from the course at the The Leat path.
Glan Dena to Pen yr Ole Wen, started in the dark, aiming to reach the top for sunrise. Navigating all the time, slow climb, some scrambling, getting nervous, roughly 3.4 km in 1:24:00. Navigating the boulder fields and slate to Carneed Dafydd, slow running into boulder field and losing the path, anxious about falling. Strong cold wind crossing to Carnedd Llewelyn, more boulder fields. More scrambling and some exposed sections before Pen yr Helgi Du, my nerves on edge, focused on looking after myself, running rarely. Finally, the descent via sketchy scree traverse, followed by a long soft heavenly run back down the valley. At an easy pace with frequent stops to navigate completed this section in about 3:50:00.
