Cuisine bushcraft brasero et cocotte en fonte (bouffecraft)

Suite à la rencontre d'un concept, une coopérative de sauvetage des aliments "jugés invendables" car pas assez sexy, et l'envie de refaire une vidéo de cuisine en extérieur avec le feu, le braséro et la fonte, nous revoilà.

Merci à Finistèrestes 29 d'avoir accepté de jouer le jeu en nous offrant de la nourriture à DLC courte que nous avons mis à l'honneur, nous l'espérons, dans cette belle vidéo ; et merci à son fondateur monsieur Karim VINCENT-VIRY d'avoir été funky en acceptant le partenariat.

On dit souvent que le bushcraft se doit d'être traditionnel, dans une sombre forêt avec un sac à dos, voyager léger. Mais on oublie souvent que rien n'interdit de monter son campement ailleurs, au bord d'un lac bien éclairé par exemple, avec un véhicule à proximité pour amener du gros matériel, surtout quand on ambitionne comme nous dans la vidéo, de faire à manger pour 10 personnes. C'est la distinction entre le bushcraft fixe (en camp) et le bushcraft en itinérance.

Alors oui, on aurait pu être un peu plus roots dans la vidéo, retirer les emballages plastiques, cacher les boites... mais en même temps mentir et faire semblant d'avoir fabriqué son beurre à l'instant au pie de la vache n'est pas notre idée d'une belle vidéo. Tout comme se casser la tête à tout mettre dans des vieux emballages en lin ou en métal pour faire "traditionnel" est chronophage et s'éloigne un peu de la réalité. En fin de compte ce qui importe c'est que le repas soit prêt est semble bien bon.

In the wake of meeting a perticular concept, a food-saving cooperative selling still-edible food seen unsexy by bigger supermarkets, and the will to make another outdoor food cooking video with fire, brasero and cast iron, there we go.

Thanks to this cooperative named Finistèrestes (a pun with words using Finistère the western-most breton department and finish your leftovers (finis... finish) we were able to lead this project to the end. Many thanks as well to its founder mister Karim VINCENT-VIRY who was funky enough to accept this partnership.

One always say that bushcraft has to be done in a traditional way, in a dark forest with a backpack, travelling light. But one often forgets that nothing prevent us from establishing a camp elsewhere, why not close to a lake lit by a shiny light for instance, with a car not too far to beable to bring heavy gears. Especially when like us in the video, you plan to cook for 10 people. That's the distinction between fixed bushcraft (on a camp) and wandering bushcraft (travelling).

So, yes, we could have been more "roots' in the video and hide all the plastic bags and hide the boxes and pretend everything was fresh from a farm, straight from the dirt... but lying and pretending are not what we like to do. Just as putting everything in old metal boxes to make it look like it was so cool and traditional. It demands too much time and effort and brings us too far away from reality. At this end of the day isn't what matter that the meal to be ready and good ?
