This week we show you how to check mainshaft bushing float on second gear, third gear, and overall on our Triumph TR gearbox. These values are critical for reliable operation of a TR transmission. Dad does a great job explaining how this process works. All you need is feeler gauge and a straight edge. Are our worn bushings to spec? Check out the video to find out!
Note this is a 3-synchro transmission out of a Triumph TR3. The process is very similar for 4-synchro boxes used in TR4, TR4a, TR250, and TR6.
