【大出水（おおでみず）の湧水】
鹿児島空港から車で20分ほどのところにある大出水では、毎分22トンの水が岩の割れ目から勢いよく湧き出しており、この水を求めて多くの人が訪れます。
この湧水は、西側の山地を水源とする久留味川の水系にあたり、下流で天降川と合流して国分平野を経由して最終的に鹿児島湾に流れ込みます。この大出水の環境をきれいに保つことは、この水を利用する人や生きものにとって有益なだけでなく、下流域の生態系の保全にもつながります。

【Odemizu spring】
20 minutes by car from Kagoshima Airport, there is a spring called “Odemizu”, bringing ~22 tons of water per minute from the cracks in the rock. Many people come to bucket this water for domestic use.
This spring is derived from the water system of the Kurumigawa River, whose source is not Kirishima volcano, but the mountain area on the west side from here. The water merges with the Amanorigawa River in the downstream and finally flows into Kagoshima Bay via the Kokubu Plain. Sustaining this environment clean is not only beneficial to the people and living things that use it, but also to the conservation of downstream ecosystems.
