Episode 1250

Lucille (Jennifer Moss) is suspicious when Minnie (Margot Bryant) tells her that Christine Peters (Frances Tomelty) knitted mittens for baby Jason Lomax (Samantha Ferguson). Ken (Bill Roache) is shocked to hear that Jacko (Robert Keegan) has pleaded guilty. The Bishops tell Lucille what they discovered about Christine, and she thinks that they should contact the police. Jacko’s solicitor, Mr. Hillbray (Michael Lees), finds out that Jacko wants to plead guilty to get a lighter sentence. Hillbray suggests delaying the case, but Jacko refuses. Detective Inspector Patterson (Tony Steedman) tells Ken that Jacko was their only suspect. Lucille and Emily visit Jean Cooper (Margaret Shevlin) but are turned away. Ernie suggests finding out how receptive Patterson might be before deciding whether to tell him what they know. Mr. Hillbray tells Jacko that the police have asked for an adjournment. Patterson questions Ernie, suspecting he knows something about the Lomax case. He asks if they know the girl’s name, and Ernie finally tells him.
