Built by CTEC in 1985, Town Lift anchors the historic downtown Park City where it is a fun place for Apres-Ski, shop, dine and a lot more other fun activities. This lift is a very long one with 30 towers and 228 chairs. There used to be 264 chairs, but when Vail combined the 2 Mountains, Park City and Canyons in 2015, Town got new safety bars and had to get downgraded by 34 chairs changing the capacity to around 1,600 per hour. With a length of 6,665 feet, Town is one of the longest fixed grips in the United States. This lift usually takes around 13-15 minutes to ride, but this one took 25 because it was summer. On the left during the ride are many of the century-plus-old mining gondola towers built in 1901 and parallels all the lift line and even into where the base of Bonanza is. This lift gets super high hours because of its winter and summer utilization. Every single time I ride this lift, my desire of it being replaced grows more. I hope they at some point replace this lift with a detachable gondola in the future, with a mid-station where the existing top terminal is, all the way to summit house.
