This video shows, using a cross-section of a Sparklets Type D soda syphon/ seltzer bottle head, how the types C, D and early US and UK Streamline models of soda syphon were constructed and how they may have been assembled. It demonstrates how the casting of very intricate designs of pewter metal items could be made reliably during the latter part of the 19th century and how this technique was capable of producing complex volume products very similar to the plastic items we use today.
