A 2016 F-150 with a 3.5L V6 has a 4WD issue - the front axle wouldn't engage, and the transfer case module showed code P1812 - 4WD Mode Select Circuit Failure.
Instead of wasting time with the test plan and unplugging connectors to check continuity, I went straight to my labscope.
The result? Fast, accurate diagnosis. The problem wasn't the circuit - it was mechanical damage on the switch. The plastic mounting tabs were broken, causing intermittent contact.
This is a great example of why you should use a scope and save known good signals when possible.
