12 Exercises To Get Your Shoulder Feeling Better

While I’m not doing all of these at once, I’ll do the soft tissue work in the first video, followed by 3-5 exercises (depending on time) going through 2 sets of each as a “movement hygiene” to get my shoulders feeling better.
I wanted to share quite a few to choose your own adventure and see which ones work well for you (this is far from the exhaustive list but a good number of exercises I like).

▶️ The Bretzel
▶️ Seated Thoracic Rotations w/ Foam Roller
▶️ Quadruped Scapular Protraction
▶️ Spider-Man Lunge w/ Rotation + Lizard Reach + Downward Dog w/ Rotation
▶️ Dr. Kirsch Hanging Protocol
▶️ Foam Roller Upward Rotation w/ Lift
▶️ Wall Overhead Flexion Test
▶️ Scapular CARs
▶️ Thoracic Rotations, 2-ways
With these exercises we’re addressing a lot of thoracic extension, rotation, and flexion. There’s a very good chance your shoulders will feel a lot better after going through the drills, some may say even buttery.
If any of the exercises bugs you, use common sense and skip it and do the ones that make you feel better.
This is not just for warm ups before upper body, this is great for doing throughout the day if you have a desk job, are crunched over for hours and hours per day or on the phone a lot.
