尺八本曲「越後三谷」
　尺八古典本曲、三谷の一種。越後（現 新潟県）にあった虚無僧寺・明暗寺（通称 越後明暗寺）に伝わった三谷。正式名称は、越後明暗寺伝の三谷。数回の焼失の為に最後は中野原に移されたが、それ以前は南蒲原郡下田郷にあった為、その地名から下田三谷（シタダサンヤ、シモダサンヤ）とも呼ばれる。明暗寺伝や布袋軒伝・錦風流伝などの他流派に伝わっている三谷と曲の構成などはほぼ同じであるが、表現の仕方（首振りなど）がかなり独特な為、全く違った雰囲気を持っている。
　越後明暗寺は、時代によって京都明暗寺や根笹派・不智派などの諸派と関わりがあった為、その曲調は京都系や奥州系の良いところが上手く交じり合い、優しくもあり激しくもあり、独特の雰囲気をかもしだしている。全体的に越後明暗の特徴である押ユリという技法が用いられる。常用される寸法は2尺管だという。
　伝承は、堀田侍川（ホッタジセン）→斉川梅翁（サイカワバイオウ）→神如道、岡本竹外、小山峰嘯などといわれている。

　　Echigo Myoanji Temple was associated with Kyoto Myoanji Temple, Nezasa School, and other sects depending on the era, so its melody is a good mix of Kyoto and Oshu styles, and is both gentle and intense, making it unique. It creates an atmosphere of the technique called oshiyuri, which is characteristic of Echigo light and shade, is used throughout. The commonly used size is a 2-shaku tube. The tradition is that Hotta Jisen → Saikawa Baiōu → Jinnyodo, Okamoto Chikugai, etc.

　東京都町田市にある薬師池公園は、江戸期に谷合を切り開いた溜池を中心とする自然公園で、高度経済成長期に東京の郊外が狙われて次々とニュータウンが造成されてしまい、今では貴重となった豊かな里山の原風景がそのまま残された場所です。敷地は中央にある薬師池に向かって緩やかな傾斜地となり、その周りを雑木林や菖蒲田等が織り成していて、薬師堂や水車小屋も置かれたノスタルジックな風景が広がります。
　この池の近くに近在にあった茅葺の古民家が二棟ばかり移築されており、長閑な農村の佇まいを見せていますが、この内の旧荻野家住宅は全国に数ある民家建築の中でも少し異色の物件で、東京都の有形文化財の指定も受けています。

Yakushiike Park in Machida City is a natural park centered around a pond that was carved out of a valley during the Edo period. This is a slightly unique property, and has been designated as a tangible cultural property by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
