49 Winze

The 49 Winze had fallen out of use, partly due to being flooded in the lower levels around 2000?. The Original 16to1 Mine had begun pumping operations to access a known gold area below the water level (have not got there yet) So, new timbers had to be set, rail had to be inspected and rehabbed, stair and ladders had rotted away and needed replacing, all to allow safe access to the lower levels. This project also opened access for a second exit from other areas in the mine. The project started at the 800 station and temporarily ended at the 1700 level until the water level can be dropped even further. This project enabled supplies to be lowered down the 49 Winze to advance the pumping operation deeper into the mine.
The 1700 level to the Tightner Station was completed in 2018.

As I am no longer employed with the mine, I do not know where the water level is now. Just wanted to put together some old photos and videos together for you YouTube viewers. Thank You.
