In The Sims 2, Pranks were introduced with The Sims 2: University. Sims can pull a prank by tossing water balloons at each other's heads, shock a Sim with a Joy Buzzer. A Sim can also fart and blame it on the other Sim. Kids can generate static electricity from a rug and then shock the other Sim. Object-wise, Sims can prank the fire sprinkler. Sims can prank any fountain by pouring soap in it.

Sims 3
In The Sims 3: Generations, a prank system was introduced, allowing children and teens to pull pranks on other Sims. These pranks include setting up objects like Whoopee Cushions, rigging sinks and toilets, and dyeing hair in the shower. With The Sims 3: Seasons, teens can also sabotage tanning booths. Sims can plant pranks like a scary Bigfoot pop-up or program a stinky liquid to make Sims puke. Teens can egg houses, set flaming bags, or ring doorbells and hide. In The Sims 3: Supernatural, Fairies can pull pranks like making Sims burp, giving them chattering teeth, or turning their hair hot. They can also prank objects, such as trashcans or mailboxes, and even change a Sim’s appearance.

Sims 4
Pranks return in The Sims 4, closely tied to the Mischief Skill. Sims can sabotage objects, like toilets, sinks, tubs, and saunas, or prank sunbathers with random body patterns. With The Sims 4: Seasons, there's a whole Prank Day. In The Sims 4: High School Years, teens can place stink capsules in lockers or trashcans, or prank whiteboards and PA speakers. Teens can also dare each other to prank and get playful or in trouble.
Sims can perform pranks like Slap 'Em Silly, use hand buzzers, or blast air horns. Depending on skills, pranks may backfire. Teens can die from stink capsules, and Sims can scare themselves to death. Children, teens, and adults can team up to prank at school or work, sometimes affecting their performance.
