The police are still quietly investigating the alleged theft of 19 billion shillings by some officials from the Ministry of Education and Sports between the financial years 2022/2023 and 2023/2024. It is believed that the money was withdrawn by the ministry's cashier, who then distributed it to various officials under the pretense of activities that never actually took place. Critics claim that some officials within the ministry are using the First Lady's name to evade accountability, causing the police investigation to drag on for almost a year. Sources suggest that the First Lady has previously warned officials against using her name to engage in corrupt activities. Sudhir Byaruhanga reports.
