Descripción:
Cuerpo fructífero: miden entre 2 y 8 cm de diámetro y de 1 a 1,5 mm de espesor. Tiene forma semicircular o abanico y está unido a la madera por un pie extendido, formando grandes grupos o estanterías en la superficie de troncos en descomposición
La superficie es afelpada y un poco pilosa hacia la zona de contacto con la madera, presentando bandas concéntricas muy visibles por sus colores pardo herrumbre, naranjas, ocres, grises, amarillos e incluso verdes al desarrollarse algas, estos colores van cambiando con la edad. El margen es fino y ondulado
La parte inferior es la parte fértil y no presenta poros, es lisa y presenta bandas de colores ocráceos, amarillos y cremas junto al margen. Al frotarlo vemos que no cambia el color a amarillo como si sucede con el Stereum subtomentosum.
-Pie: muy pequeño y más extendido que el pie del Stereum subtomentosum
-Carne: Coriácea, blanquecina, sin olor ni sabor destacables.
-Comestibilidad: No comestible por su textura coriácea
-Hábitat: Principalmente crecen sobre troncos, tocones y ramas de hayas
-Época: Pueden crecer durante todo el año si las condiciones lo permiten, pero su ciclo principal es en otoño. Permanecen durante muchos meses.
-Lugar: Parque natural de Gorbeia y otros hayedos del Álava y Bizkaia

Fruiting body: measures between 2 and 8 cm in diameter and 1 to 1.5 mm thick. It has a semicircular or fan shape and is attached to the wood by an extended stem, forming large groups or shelves on the surface of decaying trunks.
The surface is plush and slightly hairy toward the area where it contacts the wood, presenting concentric bands that are very visible due to their rusty-brown, orange, ochre, gray, yellow, and even green colors when algae develop. These colors change with age. The margin is thin
The lower part is the fertile part and has no pores. It is smooth and has bands of ochre, yellow, and cream colors along the margin. When rubbed, we see that the color does not change to yellow as it does with Stereum subtomentosum.
