My Year 11 VCE Mathematical Methods class are now commencing their study of calculus In this topic, we will explore the concept of a rate of change, before developing the techniques required for differentiation.
In this video, we explore ideas around gradient and rate of change, including constant versus non-constant rates of change.
The class uses the Cambridge Senior Maths textbook for Unit 1 and 2 Mathematical Methods and the TI Nspire CAS CX / CXII calculator.
